I have had and interest in martial arts for over 30 years and have been a Tai Chi practitioner for 13 years.
I had early studies in Isshinryu, Kung Fu, and Tae Kwondo but due to work and night school college
studies could not dedicate the time to any of the aforementioned disciplines.
I always kept martial arts in mind until time became available to begin again.

Having already seen what the popular martial art forms had to offer looked around for an art
form that could be done for the rest of my life. One day while talking to a coworker about
exercise it was suggested I look into Tai Chi. After doing extensive research on Tai Chi
I came to the conclusion that Chen Tai Chi was the style best suited for me.

Fortunately there was a Chen Stylist teacher (Master Frank Shiery) in the area and in the fall of 1996 began a serious commitment to learn Chen style Tai Chi with him.
For the next six years of study with Master Shiery I learned Chen Zhenglei’s 18 Essence of Tai Chi
Form, Xin Jia Yi Lu, Straight Sword, Broad Sword, Spear, 24 Simplified, 64 Combined form,
Chi Kung some Small Frame and in conjunction with Master Shiery learned a Fan form
and two person sword sparring form with Jose Johnson and Grand and Small circulation Chi Kung with Yan GaoFei

In 2000 went to China staying a month with Chen Style GrandMaster Chen Zhenglei getting a
deeper understanding of Chen style Tai Chi requirements. In China I learned Lao Jia Yi Lu
and Lao Jia Straight Sword. Since 1998 have gone to continued learning and form correction
seminars hosting the top Chen Tai Chi GrandMasters from Chenjiagou with topics of Chin Na,
Chi Kung, Xin Jia Er Lu, Long Pole, Straight Sword, Lao Jia Yi Lu, Lao Jia Er Lu, Fajing,
Fajing Form and will continue to enhance knowledge and commitment through seminars and studying.

In 2007 in a conversation at a seminar with GrandMaster Chen Zhenglei and wife was informed I could teach Tai Chi.
